Thinking about everything that happened in FF7 Remake between Cloud and Aerith, what do you think could happen in FF7 Rebirth at Gold Saucer when they meet?

I don’t really have a juicy answer to this right now – with the game coming out in ten days, I don’t think it’s worth speculating about! I think the Cloud and Aeris date at Gold Saucer will be beautiful and we’ll all love it, though.

Square Enix devs say that this love triangle is to be “decided” by the players… my question is: Does Square not have the courage to make a decision regarding this issue because they know it will upset a community of fans (cloti, clerith)

I don’t think about is as “Square lacks the courage to make one pairing canon” (though sure, I’m sure the inevitable fan backlash either way would be formidable.) I think of it more as, the storytelling techniques foundational to the original Final Fantasy VII involved making use of hints, subtle cues, and ambiguity. They wanted to create a story that would get fans talking, theorizing, and sharing opinions. If something is concrete, what’s left to discuss? Generally, I think we should worry less about, say, the Cloti side getting content as well, and just enjoy our Clerith content.

I just want to ask if you can know the quote from an interview where one of the devs (either Nojima, Nomura, Kitase etc.) said that the other devs/staff love Aerith or put a lot of effort in Aerith’s character design in FFVII Remake. I was trying to find that interview but I can’t. I tried different keywords but failed. T_T If you feel like it I hope you can make a post about devs commenting on their love for Aerith.

Hmm, I’m not sure I can think of a quote like that off the top of my head related to her character design specifically. Perhaps you’re thinking of Nojima saying the following in the Remake Ultimania?

Nojima: “Aerith’s the most important character in the Remake, so we paid special attention to her lines. I wrote her under the presumption that her words were were likely filled with hints of what’s to come.”

If I come across anything closer to what you’re thinking about, I’ll share it for sure! I have no doubt that the devs love Aeris, and no doubt that would be a great future post!

In Advent Children, others claim Denzel is Tifa’s and Cloud’s adoptive child, is this true?

True! Denzel is an orphan who Cloud finds outside of Aeris’s church. Feeling that Aeris brought Denzel to him, Cloud brings him back home to Seventh Heaven, where he and Tifa take care of him. From there, Tifa considers herself a mother to Denzel, as well as Marlene.

I am new to Final Fantasy and Tifa’s fans keep telling me, it wasn’t Cloud who fell in love with Aerith but Zack and I did play Crisis Core and Remake, Zack really didn’t have the connection with Aerith like Cloud did, so was Cloud, Zack? One person claims in Advent Children Tifa and Cloud end up together.

According to the Ultimanias, Aeris was initially curious about Cloud due to his resemblance to Zack, but comes perceive and fall in love with Cloud for who he himself is.

Cloud was also never “Zack” – though he was, perhaps, subconsciously mimicking him, his personality is distinct. Anyone who has played Crisis Core can tell you Cloud, who is cool, introverted, and awkward, does not act remotely like Zack, who is warm, extroverted, and social.

No, Cloud and Tifa do not canonically “end up together. You can check out my post about it for more information!
